Economic-Empowerment Program
Program Mission
The Economic-Empowerment Program seeks to provide direct support to a Nicaraguan community to increase the living standards. Projects involved: construction, organic farming, develop a drinking water system, and mentoring organizational skills.
Deliverables

Led a successful construction project of three large and tenths of smaller eco-homes. The project was executed by a team of apprentices that needed training, leading, and managed. The team developing task was achieved by using structural and electricians SMEs. This housing construction project lifted the economic conditions of twenty-two team members and their families.

Coordinated the construction of three large irrigation ponds and twenty-one septic tanks.

Successfully led the installation of a government-approved drinkable water system, benefiting a 1500-person community.

Strengthened relations with multiple attorneys to provide pro bono services to help 100 families to gain title deeds for their land and homes.

Developed, executed, and quantified benefits of dozens of mid-size organic farming projects (avocados, beans, aquaculture).

Mentored ten young locals to solve technical problems and decision-making of their projects using MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Access Relational Databases tools.

Lessons Learned
We found that indigent persons, can, in fact, excel in their assigned tasks, if properly explained the value of objectives of the endeavors.
